Any quick recipes for white hominy?

Bought white hominy, my first time. Want to make something different but don't have too many things in refrigerator. Home recipes are welcomed even preferred:)Any quick recipes for white hominy?
Breakfast Hominy


Makes 4 servings





1 can (15.5 ounces) BUSH'S BEST Golden Hominy, drained


6-8 slices bacon


1/4 teaspoon pepper


1/2 teaspoon salt





Drain hominy and set aside. Fry bacon until crisp. Drain well leaving 2 tablespoons of bacon drippings in pan. Set bacon aside. Add BUSH'S BEST Golden Hominy. Season with salt and pepper. Stir over medium heat until very hot. Serve with bacon.





Chili Hominy Pie








1 can (15.5 ounces) BUSH'S BEST Hominy, drained


1 small onion, minced


2 cups chili, homemade or purchased


1 can (16 ounces) BUSH'S BEST Chili Beans


3/4 cup Cheddar cheese, shredded


1 cup crushed corn chips or tortilla chips


Cilantro


Cherry tomatoes, halved





Pour BUSH'S BEST Hominy into non-stick 2 quart baking dish. Sprinkle with minced onion. In mixing bowl, combine chili and beans. Spread mixture evenly over hominy and onion. Sprinkle with grated cheese and top with crushed corn chips. Place in preheated 350掳 oven for 20 minutes or until bubbly and hot. Garnish with cilantro and cherry tomato halves, if desired.





Delicious Hominy Casserole

















Makes 8 servings





1 30 oz. can BUSH'S BEST Golden Hominy, drained


1 tablespoon butter or oil


1/2 cup grated cheese


1/4 cup chopped onion


1/8 teaspoon cayenne


1/4 cup chopped green pepper


1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce


1/2 cup chopped celery with a few leaves


1 can cream of mushroom soup


1/4 cup milk


Soft bread crumbs


Parmesan cheese


Paprika





Cook onion, green pepper, and celery in oil for 3 to 5 minutes. Add soup and milk. Stir until smooth. Add cheese and seasonings. Fold in 1 can BUSH'S BEST Golden Hominy. Pour into 11/2 qt. Casserole which has been well-greased. Tear one or two slices of bread into small pieces to make soft crumbs. Top casserole with crumbs. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and paprika. Bake at 375 for 30 minutes.





Green Chili Hominy








Serves 10 or 12.





4 15.5 oz cans BUSH'S BEST White Hominy (drain and reserve)


1 cup chopped onion, sauteed


1/2 cup hominy liquid


1 tbl juice from pickled jalapenos


1/2 lb cheddar cheese, grated


10 slices bacon, fried crisp and chopped (save drippings)


1 cup chopped green chiles


1 to 2 pickled jalapenos, seeded and chopped (optional)





Saute onions in a little of the bacon drippings and put aside. Heat the hominy in a separate pan, stirring often. When heated thoroughly, add the hominy liquid and jalapeno juice, bring back to high temp and add 3/4 of the


cheese. When the cheese melts, add half the peppers and bacon and all the onion.





Pour into a 9x13 inch pan and sprinkle with remaining cheese, bacon and peppers. Bake at 325 degree until cheese on top melts about 15 minutes or 40 minutes if refrigerated.





Hominy Salad

















Makes 4 to 6 servings





1 15.5 oz. can BUSH'S BEST White Hominy


1/4 cup chopped green pepper


1/4 teaspoon pepper


2 tablespoons chopped onion


1/4 teaspoon celery seed


1 cup sliced celery


1 cup cubed or grated cheese


1/4 cup drained pickle relish or sliced olives


1/4 cup mayonnaise


1 teaspoon salt


2 tomatoes sliced into wedges





Rinse hominy and drain well. Combine with remaining ingredients and chill well. Serve on lettuce, garnished with tomato wedges and more mayonnaise if desired.





To make a main-dish salad, add 1 can drained tuna fish or 1 cup diced ham or 4 chopped hard-cooked eggs.





Menudo








3 lbs. tripe, washed and cut into 1-inch squares


1 large soup bone


1 pig's foot, cut up


2 onions, chopped


2 15 1/2 oz. cans BUSH'S BEST White Hominy


7 garlic cloves, chopped


6 large tomatoes, peeled and chopped


6 Tablespoons chili powder, or to taste


4 jalapenos, chopped


2 teaspoon oregano, crushed


3 teaspoons cumin


1 teaspoon thyme


1 teaspoon rosemary


salt %26amp; pepper, to taste





Combine all ingredients (except the hominy) in very large pot with water to cover. Bring to a boil, and reduce heat to simmer 6-8 hours. Replace water as needed and skim for excess fat. Add hominy the last 20 minutes before serving.





Texas Caviar








2 cans (15.8 ounces) BUSH'S BEST Black-eyed Peas, rinsed and drained


1 can (15.5 ounces) BUSH'S BEST White Hominy


1/3 cup olive oil


1/3 white vinegar


1 garlic cloves, minced


2 green onions, minced


1 green pepper, diced


1 red pepper, diced


1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced


1/2 cup cheddar cheese, cubed


1/2 cup parsley, minced


Salt and Pepper, to taste





Garnish:


Fresh cilantro





Combine all ingredients and refrigerate, covered, several hours or overnight. NOTE: If desired, serve with tortilla chips as appetizer or in lettuce cups as a saladAny quick recipes for white hominy?

White House Chili


(Ground turkey, white beans, hominy and green chiles in a tangy broth.)





Ingredients


1 pound ground turkey


2 cans (15 ounces each) great northern beans


1 can (16 ounces) white hominy


1 can (4.5 ounces) chopped green chiles


1 package Lawry's chili seasoning


陆 cup water





Directions


Brown the turkey. Drain. Add the beans, along with their liquid, the hominy and the green chiles. Add the seasoning mix and water. Bring to boil, reduce heat, and simmer about 20 minutes.





Suggestions


Serve with grated white American cheese and chopped green onions.

dash of tobasco or more if preferred
